Giraffe voted amongst the top 5 tech startups in South Africa 2015 and one of the 12 African startups to watch in 2016

Adding to previous accolades, Giraffe has been voted in the top 5 tech startups in South Africa 2015, and in the top 12 startups in the whole of Africa to watch in 2016.

Ventureburn, the leading South African tech journal, consulted with several senior figures in the tech industry to identify the top companies. Giraffe, the mobile recruitment agency service, was amongst the top five identified.

“It’s inspiring to see how local entrepreneurs have the ability to identify a global opportunity, solve hard technical problems and execute at a world class level that allows them to be global players that are born and raised in South Africa,” says Marcello Schermer, Regional Manager for Seedstars World, Africa.

In addition, Disrupt Africa, another pan-African tech journal listed Giraffe as one of the 12 African startups to watch in 2016.

Giraffe launched its low-cost mobile recruitment agency service in Johannesburg and Pretoria in Feb 2015. Since then Giraffe has acquired nearly 80 thousand jobseekers, invited over 8,000 of them for interviews and placed candidates with hundreds of employers in retail, hospitality, call centre and admin sectors.

Giraffe now plans to offer its low-cost recruitment agency services in Cape Town, Durban and the rest of South Africa in early 2016.
